In DARKNESS, the sound of TV static.

 

FADE IN:

Close-up TV static. The sound of a fart.

 

WOMAN’S VOICE:

You are a bad clown.

 

CLOWN-BOY:

I ate at Taco Hell for lunch…

(another fart)

…bean burritos…I love them, but they don’t love me.

(laugh)

 

WOMAN’S VOICE:

Damn that sinks…

(laughs)

 

CLOWN-BOY:

Do you know why farts stink?

 

WOMAN’S VOICE:

(long pause)

OK, why do farts stink?

 

CLOWN-BOY:

So, deaf people can enjoy them too…

(Laughter)

 

WOMAN’S VOICE:

(Stops laughing)

Don’t you dare hold my head under the blanket.

 

CLOWN-BOY:

Is that a request?

(Laughter)

Don’t worry. I got other plans for you little girl.

 

WOMAN’S VOICE:

I bet you do—you bad clown…

(Giggle)

(Seriously) What are you going to do with that?
